Due to demand, NetIX has improved and upgraded its presence in Moscow to enable better connectivity options to its customers.
Sofia, Bulgaria – 2nd September 2020: NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for connectivity and peering services has improved its service offering by upgrading its presence in Moscow and improving its broad range of connectivity options into the Russian capital.
NetIX has improved its Russian connectivity two fold; another 10G switch has been installed in the M9 data centre enabling more customers to access the platform from this key location, and the MSK-IX (Moscow Internet Exchange) link has been upgraded to 10G enabling more customers to peer at the Moscow-based exchange.
With the increasing level of demand and high volumes of traffic travelling across NetIX’s network during lockdown, its access to MSK-IX needed to be upgraded from 2.5G to 10G to continue to offer lower latency, reduced IP Transit costs, and improved resiliency and redundancy to its 140+ global members.
“We’re thrilled to see Russian connectivity demand increase,” said Dean Belev, VP of Services at NetIX. He continued, “Whilst NetIX is a global network with presence across six continents, our presence across Eastern Europe and Russia is unmatched and for many of our Asian and U.S.-based customers this makes us stand out from the crowd; through just one cross connect, one port and one contract, they can access a huge number of peering only available in this region.”
