Network Update
August 27, 2020 5:00 p.m. CST
We continue to see the impacts of Hurricane Laura as the storm makes its way through Arkansas. We remain committed to keeping our customers, their families and the public safety community connected. Our wireless network in Texas is operating near normal and in Louisiana our network is proving it’s resiliency. Some wireless and wireline customers may experience service interruptions because of significant storm damage and power outages but we continue to monitor and address the impacts throughout each state. With extensive flooding and commercial power outages in parts of the state, back-up batteries and generators continue to provide power to our facilities.
Our teams continue to deploy and stage an arsenal of additional network recovery equipment to support customers and first responders, including a satCOLT currently on air in Lake Charles, LA. Our teams and FirstNet liaisons are in contact with federal, state and local officials on our deployment efforts to support public safety and the communities in the storm’s path. In areas where the storm has passed, our teams continue to assess damage and begin to make repairs as quickly and safely as conditions allow.
