Hylan’s Chairman of the Board to Participate in Fiber Fireside Chat with Sitetracker

Holmdel NJ, July 23, 2020 – Hylan, a market-leading provider of specialized communications engineering and construction services, announces today that its chairman of the board, Robert DiLeo, will participate in a Fiber Fireside Chat hosted by Sitetracker. In the session, which takes place on Wednesday, July 29 at 8 AM PDT / 11 AM EDT, DiLeo and fellow industry leaders will discuss ways to better prepare for a post-COVID world. DiLeo will be joined by Brett Cupta, VP of Strategy at Sitetracker; Mike Coffey, VP of Outside Plant for Extenet; and Tim Sherman, Engineering Director for Ervin Cable Construction.

Hylan officials point to the pandemic and the aspects of the “new normal” that will likely continue for the foreseeable future. Infrastructure and construction industries were deemed “essential” early on, and Hylan was able to keep the momentum with its own scheduled projects and those that were already underway. Still,  pre-COVID construction sites look nothing like they do now. For instance, companies must limit the number of employees present at a given construction site and are required to provide employees with proper PPE to ensure their safety and meet city or statewide regulations.

“There are a lot of things to consider for a COVID-era construction site,” comments  DiLeo. “Aside from extra health and safety precautions onsite, pre-planning has become a bit more complicated. Government offices are sparsely staffed, meaning it can take considerably longer to obtain the proper permits to carry out jobs. This can cause bottlenecks in planning and implementation, and we as an industry must consider how to avoid those impediments to keep important projects and maintenance on track. As a country, we are all now learning, working and entertaining ourselves online at an unprecedented rate, and Hylan’s job is to build infrastructure that allows us to continue living this way. I look forward to providing insight, listening to others, and getting feedback during this timely and important panel.”

Topics that will be covered in Sitetracker’s Fiber Fiberside Chat include:

  • What COVID related challenges aren’t being talked about enough?
  • Is now the right time to consider making changes to your business processes?
  • What will the fiber industry look like in the next 5 years?
