Hylan CEO Joe Cecin to Speak on Webinar Hosted by Inside Towers

Cecin will discuss potential changes to wireless infrastructure in a post-COVID-19 world

Holmdel, NJ – July 15, 2020 Hylan, a market leading provider of specialized communications engineering and construction services, announces CEO Joe Cecin’s participation in an upcoming webinar, hosted by Inside Towers. The webinar titled, “COVID-19 & Network Deployment,” takes place Tuesday, July 28, and will discuss what wireless infrastructure deployments will look like post-COVID-19. Cecin will be joined by Michael Hill, Assistant General Counsel of Regulatory Affairs for ExteNet Systems, John Lamond, National Sales Director for GME Supply; and Giuseppe Incitti, CEO of Sitetracker.

Cecin states that the pandemic has affected and continues to affect multiple aspects of life, including network builds. Telecom infrastructure construction was deemed an “essential service” in the early stages of the pandemic, meaning important projects and maintenance would continue despite many other businesses closing. But “businesses took action with safety precautions”, according to Cecin, “providing workers with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and limiting the number of workers allowed at a site.  The COVID-era construction site looks much different than it did before.”

“I look forward to discussing this timely and critical topic with the other members of the panel,” continues Cecin. “The pandemic will be with us for the foreseeable future, so the industry will need to plan for the long run. There is no way of knowing right now if there are any aspects of life during the pandemic that will become part of the ‘new normal’ – but the industry must be prepared either way. And either way, wireless build-outs will continue to be essential, and the safety of our employees is our top priority.”

Topics that will be discussed in the webinar include:

  • Workforce impact and safety (internal and external operational changes)
  • Supply chain issues
  • 5G rollout, outdoor and in-building
  • Zoning and permitting process shifts (how are municipalities dealing?)
  • Effects by category e.g. fiber, DAS, small cells, macro towers
  • Digital transformation
