[Shanghai, China, July 2, 2020] At the GTI Summit 2020 Online Edition, Liang Hua, Huawei’s Chairman of the Board, delivered a keynote on July 2, 2020, the second day of the event. Liang spoke about how the global ICT industry could use 5G, cloud, and AI technologies to help other industries go digital, unify wireless technology standards, and promote collaboration across the global 5G value chain.
Liang explained the intrinsic connections between 5G, cloud computing, and AI, as well as how they complement each other, saying, “5G, cloud, and AI will soon penetrate almost every industry, driving faster technology upgrades and efficiency gains. When combined, they will create new value.”
Liang went on to say that 5G was vital for empowering digital transformation in other industries and stimulating the digital economy. He stressed that, “Now is a critical moment for the development of 5G standards and the 5G industry. The global industry must act now to unify wireless technology standards.”
Liang noted that only an open and collaborative ecosystem that thrives on shared success will promote the healthy development of the 5G industry. At the end of his speech, Liang reiterated Huawei’s commitment to openness, collaboration, and shared success, and emphasized that Huawei would continue to work with its partners, including GTI, to drive 5G innovation and push the industry forward, bringing 5G to all and creating new and greater social value.
