AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship

Updated July 2, 2020
The inaugural AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship class graduated 6/26, capping a 13-week program where talented veterans explored their passion for media making and immersed themselves in the movie industry.
From writing to producing to understanding the business basics of media operations, the 20 Veterans within the program learned through workshops, guest speakers and even by creating their own original content. This graduating class of veterans demonstrates the resiliency and determination we see in all of our nation’s heroes.
“As the inaugural AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship comes to a close, I’m left feeling incredibly moved by the dedication of these 20 graduates,” said Catherine González Pack, Assistant Vice President, Video Operations for AT&T. “Their commitment to learning, growing and honing a new craft was nothing short of inspiring. I’m excited to see what the future holds for each of them.”
To continue celebrating the accomplishments of the AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship Class of 2020, a short film about their experience in the program will be shown during the previews at the Tribeca Drive-In this Summer. Beginning on July 2 and running through August 2, Tribeca Drive-In will provide families with a safe, comfortable entertainment experience in cities and towns across the country, including AT&T Stadium. As an Official National Partner of the Tribeca Drive-In, AT&T will be onsite with exciting, contactless activations. Check out tribecafilm.com/drive-in for more information.

Connecting Veterans to Opportunities in the Entertainment Industry
After receiving more than 800 inquiries and 80 applications, AT&T and Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME) are thrilled to announce that 22 talented veterans have been chosen for the AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship.
Media-making is an ever-growing industry and a core part of our business, and we support programs that elevate diverse voices and perspectives in this space.
The AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship, powered by VME, will help US military veterans transition into meaningful, impactful careers in the media and entertainment industry. Representing different branches of the armed services – the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy – this inaugural class brings a wide range of life and service experiences to the program. As a group, they share the desire to develop skills to become digital creators, writers, producers, directors, camera operators, editors, and more.
AT&T is proud to collaborate with VME to develop and run this program. Founded in 2012 as a grassroots movement and nonprofit organization, VME is a professional association of U.S. military veterans working in, or aspiring to work in, media and entertainment. Members come from creative and corporate leadership positions to production trades and artisans, and at all career levels.
In addition to VME’s jobs program and the AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship program, VME hosts regular guest speaker events, roundtables, classes, workshops, and panels in Los Angeles and New York with Hollywood executives, directors, producers, as well as a screenings program and casting project.
Over the next several weeks, we will introduce some of the fellows and share their stories. Follow along to see how this talented group of individuals plans to learn, grow and achieve their biggest dreams in the media industry.
