Today, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the landmark federal anti-discrimination law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, applies to Gay, Lesbian and Transgender workers. The ruling will extend anti-discrimination protections to millions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) employees.
Last summer, AT&T joined more than 200 major companies in filing an amicus brief in support of this outcome. This brief outlined that no one should be passed over for a job, paid less, fired or subject to harassment due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

We are a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and have long supported efforts to ensure employees feel safe, valued and heard. Since 1975, we have implemented policies prohibiting discrimination against employees based on sexual orientation.
Today, HBO also launched its first ever digital Pride campaign, Human By Orientation. HBO repurposed its famous acronym to launch the website that is a safe place for LGBTQ+ community and allies to gather, recharge and spread joy.
