Tokyo, 2nd June 2020 – Colt Technology Services, a leading provider of agile, high bandwidth connectivity solutions and a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) today announced the availability of hosted on-demand access to Oracle Cloud Infrastracture in Tokyo through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect.
This follows Colt’s announcement in May 2019, when it first began offering dedicated access to Oracle Cloud in Tokyo through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect; supporting Oracle’s expanding footprint into Asia.
Colt On Demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allows customers to self-provision secure, high bandwidth connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions in a matter of minutes, allowing them to dynamically scale bandwidth up or down in near-real-time. Colt On Demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is controlled by an online customer portal and purchased through a flexible, pay as you use commercial model.
Colt’s Cloud connectivity and On Demand proposition is underpinned by the Colt IQ Network – a 100Gbps optimised intelligent network that’s distributed to more than 900 data centres and 29,000 on net buildings points globally; with over 90 data centres and 2,500 on net buildings in Asia. The Colt IQ network delivers improved performance, enhanced control, flexibility and scalability which are critical when accessing business functions and data.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect provides dedicated connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other Oracle Cloud services. FastConnect provides an easy, elastic and economical way for companies in Japan to connect to Oracle Cloud with high bandwidth and low latency, providing a more reliable and consistent networking experience versus public internet-based connections.
Masato Hoshino, Head of Asia and Representative Director & President of Japan for Colt said: “Ever since Colt and Oracle announced their initial collaboration in October 2018, we have increasingly shared a joint purpose and focus on delivering transformational value to enterprises all over the world and across all industry sectors by enabling the successful migrations of their critical business systems, applications and databases to the cloud.”
“We’re delighted to announce the expansion and upgrade of our capabilities to support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect in Tokyo. A cloud-based digital transformation strategy requires a highly reliable network that provides secure, high bandwidth connectivity and is also highly scalable in order to cope with the benefits that cloud services deliver. Colt has invested heavily in ensuring it has a best-in-class network across the world to support enterprises cloud migrations, meaning that organisations can enter the next decade in the best possible position; able to digitally evolve and thrive.” Masato added.
“In February of this year, we announced the commencement of operations in Osaka, our second region in Japan to provide Oracle Cloud services. We understand the vital importance of having two Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data centre regions on the East and West sides of Japan in order to provide optimal security, resiliency and satisfaction to our customers said Vinay Kumar, vice president, product management, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “The expanded collaboration between Colt and Oracle will now enable more organisations in Japan to benefit from our FastConnect services in Tokyo and Osaka. With FastConnect, organisations benefit from seamless, secure cloud connectivity that delivers the speed, reliability, and security that businesses need today.”
