More than 42 million Toll-Free Numbers (TFN) in North America will be managed by the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Ericsson Operations Engine in a new deal with Somos, administrator of the SMS/800 TFN Registry.
The registry will be evolved with cloud-native application development services from the Ericsson Operations Engine portfolio during the five-year deal - including the ability to design, develop and test new software features for the SMS/800 TFN Registry application. The business-critical application is central to Somos’ mandate to provide trusted, reliable and modern Toll-Free Number registry services to its customers.
The new deal extends a 20-year partnership between Ericsson and Somos, including the building and enhancement of an application to support Somos’ existing SMS/800 TFN.
William Carter, Chief Operating Officer, Somos, says: “Ericsson has been a trusted partner of Somos for more than 20 years and this partnership has been instrumental in allowing us to continue to modernize and provide critical services to our customer. With Ericsson’s support, we can trust our services will be online 24/7, especially during crucial times such as these.”
