Verizon Response Team deployed to Nashville

March 4, 4:00pm Update

What you need to know:

• The Verizon Response Team is on the ground and mobile assets have been deployed in some of the hardest hit areas to improve coverage, including Cookeville and Mt. Juliet, with more assets available for deployment as needed.

• Verizon consumer (prepaid and postpaid) and small business customers in Davidson, Putnam, Wilson and Benton counties will receive unlimited calling, texting and data starting today, March 4, through March 8.

• Our network continues to perform well in Nashville and surrounding areas. The majority of our network has been fully restored and operating at or near business as usual performance

Customer and community support

Our Verizon Response Team is on the ground in Nashville and the surrounding areas coordinating with first responders and others in the community involved in recovery efforts.

A Satellite COLT (Cell on Light Truck) has been set up in Cookeville, and one is being set up today in Mt. Juliet, to assist with connectivity in those hard hit areas. An additional 14 Satellite COLTs and 26 satellite trailers are headed to the area from all over the country and will be deployed as needed.

A Wireless Emergency Communications Trailer (WECC) has been set up at the Cookeville Command Center to support first responders on the ground there. WECCs are generator-powered mobile units that have device charging and computer workstations, along with wireless phones, tablets and other devices to contact friends, family and other important contacts over Verizon’s 4G LTE network. We have also mobilized charging stations, devices, special equipment, emergency vehicles and more to support local, state and federal agencies across the US.

For our consumer and small business customers in Davidson, Putnam, Wilson and Benton counties, beginning today, Wednesday, March 4 through March 8, Verizon is providing unlimited calling, texting and data to those who reside in Benton, Davidson, Putnam and Wilson counties. In addition, to help with relief efforts, Verizon is making a $10,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Customers can verify eligibility for call, text, and data relief by entering their zip code at Verizon Wireless.(**Please note, website will not be updated until Wednesday, March 8**)

• The Verizon Response Team has been deployed to Nashville, with mobile network assets headed to the hardest hit areas, including: a SPOT (Satellite PicoCell on a Trailer) to Cookeville, with four more SPOTs and a COLT (Cell on Light Truck) on standby.
• Verizon consumer (prepaid and postpaid) and small business customers in Davidson, Putnam, Wilson and Benton counties will receive unlimited calling, texting and data 3/4-3/8.
• The Verizon Foundation announced a $10,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Network

Our network is performing well in Nashville, however, some customers in Cookeville, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Clarksville and Chattanooga are experiencing some service disruptions due to fiber damage caused by the tornadoes that hit the area. Our engineers and emergency crews are working tirelessly to resolve it as quickly as possible.
