Sprint Recognized As A Visionary In Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant For Managed IoT Connectivity Services, Worldwide

March 10, 2020

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) today announced it has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. as a Visionary in the 2019 Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services, Worldwide1 for its Curiosity™ IoT solution. The Gartner Magic Quadrant assessed 18 global Internet of Things (IoT) players by their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision”. This year Sprint moved from a position in the Niche Players quadrant to the Visionaries quadrant.

“I am incredibly proud to see Sprint recognized as a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, and we are only just getting started,” said Ivo Rook, senior vice president of IoT and product development for Sprint. “Our decision to build the first network for software is paying off, but more importantly it is helping our customers grow quicker and run their applications better, in the cloud or at the edge of our network.”

This year, Curiosity IoT plans to continue to expand its international footprint, helping to eliminate the need for roaming by accelerating the ability of its customers to use local profiles across the world. Additionally, Sprint plans to execute its edge strategy by building on the Curiosity Private Core. And, as part of Sprint’s efforts to democratize IoT, the company plans to re-launch Sprint IoT Factory. This device-agnostic marketplace empowers customers, even if they’re not tech savvy, to quickly solve operational roadblocks with ready-to-deploy IoT products or fully customized solutions.
