Sparkle, the first international service provider in Italy and among the top ten global operators, has been selected by the Institute of Informatics and Telematics of the Italian National Research Council (IIT-CNR) for the provision of colocation and interconnection services of the .it Registry in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Institute of Informatics and Telematics of CNR carries out activities of research, assessment, technology transfer and training in the field of Information and Communication Technologies and of Computational Sciences. In the Internet sector, the institute, through the .it Registry, is responsible for registering and managing .it domains.

With a tender process, Sparkle was selected among several operators for its cutting-edge technological infrastructure and for offering fast and redundant interconnection services. As part of the agreement, Sparkle will host the Institute’s infrastructure dedicated to some Registry.it services, in particular the Anycast DNS service, providing local interconnection services.

Sparkle’s Data Center solutions offer the most advanced and air-conditioned facilities, with state-of-the-art performance, safety levels and reliability.

The collaboration with the CNR Institute of Informatics and Telematics is in addition to the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) framework agreement with GÉANT pan-European research and education networking project, confirming Sparkle’s commitment to offering connectivity, cloud and data center services to support research.
