AT&T Names Charlene Lake Chair of AT&T Foundation

AT&T* has named Charlene Lake chair of the AT&T Foundation, effective Sept. 18. Lake will assume this position in addition to her current role as senior vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility & Chief Sustainability Officer. Previously, Lake served as vice president of the foundation.

Lake will oversee the AT&T Foundation and all other charitable giving programs, including the company’s focus on education and its efforts with environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, digital safety and community engagement.

“I’m thrilled that Charlene will be leading the AT&T Foundation,” said Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and CEO. “Her commitment to citizenship and sustainability has made a real difference both at AT&T and in the world at large. That experience will be a huge asset as she guides the AT&T Foundation into the future.”

In her role at AT&T, Lake drives corporate responsibility strategy addressing key environmental, economic and social challenges. She also has oversight to AT&T’s stakeholder impact measures, reputation and signature initiatives that connect social needs with business objectives.

Prior to her current position, Lake served in a variety of leadership roles at AT&T, including in communications, corporate advertising and sports marketing, and public affairs.

Lake serves on the board of trustees and as secretary of the National Urban League and as chair of the National Public Affairs Council. Additionally, Lake sits on the board of directors of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and the Kansas State University Foundation.
