Nominate Your Favorite Teacher’ contest carries $300 school supplies prizes
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, today announced a nationwide campaign to recognize great teachers and connect new customers with high-speed Internet for lower introductory fees ahead of students’ return to school.
Kinetic by Windstream retail locations will participate in a Nominate Your Favorite Teacher back-to-school contest beginning July 15. The contest is open to teachers in primary and secondary schools. Nominations may be made in person at any Kinetic by Windstream store before September. The local teacher in each community with the most nominations will receive up to $300 worth of school supplies, from new technology (tablet, laptop, TV or projector) to art materials (paper, paint, brushes, etc.) to books or other educational materials.
For the same limited time, Kinetic by Windstream is offering new customers free activation inside retail stores July 15 to Aug. 31.
“At the start of the new school year, Windstream is taking stock of the ‘supplies’ we need to learn effectively — great teachers and click-quick Internet speeds for homework,” said Jeff Small, Windstream’s president of consumer markets. “We’ve made huge investments in our network core transport and last-mile connections recently, and what is it all for if not to get parents and teachers the fast Internet they need to drive education for our kids.”
Each nomination will include the name of the teacher and the school, the name of the nominator and an optional comment section where additional information about the teacher may be provided.
“Come by your local Kinetic by Windstream retail store and write a ‘thank you’ to your favorite teachers. Show teachers in our communities how much we think of them,” said Jeff Auman, senior vice president of sales for Windstream.
For existing customers, Kinetic by Windstream is offering Shield security packages starting at $8.99 which help keep kids safe online by offering malware and virus protection, keep homework safe with online data backup, and provide peace of mind with multi-device security.
Each Kinetic by Windstream store will announce one winning teacher based on nomination count within the month of September. Windstream will make the purchase of the chosen school supplies and present it to the winner, as well as showcase the teacher and school in future messaging, pending approval.
