PERHAM, MINN., June 24, 2019 — Arvig announced that Eric S. Wilkens, Ph.D., has been promoted to the role of Cybersecurity Engineer. Wilkens is responsible for the continuous development and attainment of companywide cybersecurity and incident response initiatives that ensure the integrity of corporate data as well as the availability and functionality of corporate resources and services.
In addition to his position at Arvig, Wilkens is a member of the Air National Guard, where he maintains systems and ensures current defensive mechanisms are in place.
“Eric brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to this role,” said Staci Malikowski, Chief Financial Officer. “His background in networking, system engineering and information security, will be assets both to him and Arvig as he works to provide the innovation and leadership the cybersecurity role demands.
Wilkens began his career at Arvig in 2015 as a System Engineer and spent the past three and a half years leading system engineering project planning and implementation. In that role he also led Arvig’s information security program, recommending and implementing risk management and disaster recovery plans.
Wilkens holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology specializing in Information Assurance and Security. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds several other technical certifications.
