Fabric deployment to Netrality’s 401 North Broad bolsters regional growth for the leading peering network exchange
APRIL 30, 2019 – Netrality Data Centers, owner and operator of highly interconnected, network-neutral data centers and colocation facilities, announced today that NYIIX, one of the largest neutral internet exchange (IX) points in the world, has expanded its fabric deployment to 401 North Broad in Philadelphia.
Operated by Telehouse America, the NYIIX fabric buildout to 401 North Broad is part of an expansion to further tap into the Philadelphia market, where there is strong and growing local demand. The new location, known as NYIIX Philadelphia, serves to close the gap between New York City and Virginia.
According to Akio Sugeno, Vice President of Internet Engineering, Operations, and Business Development at Telehouse America, the service expansion is part of the company’s ongoing development to meet changing data transport and connectivity needs for an expanding customer base operating in the US and globally:
“The role of internet exchanges is becoming more vital to digital transformation through greater connectivity and services,” said Sugeno. “Our deployment of NYIIX Fabric to Netrality’s 401 North Broad data center will enable us to better meet the needs of customers in the Philadelphia market through more robust exchange connectivity and services.”
“NYIIX is a key enhancement to our ecosystem at 401 North Broad,” said Phil Calantoni, Director of Business Development at Netrality Philadelphia. “The NYIIX expansion to Philadelphia ensures traffic is kept local, resulting in reduced latency for our customers and the entire Philadelphia region.”
Netrality’s 401 North Broad is the premier interconnection data center between New York and northern Virginia. Host to a robust ecosystem of service and cloud providers, content delivery networks, and managed service providers, Netrality data centers deliver the ultra-low latency, high performance, network reliability and redundancy required by the most innovative companies.
