Inaugural Partnership with New York Mets Will Provide Members with Access to Exclusive Content, Communities, and Unprecedented Experiences with Their Favorite Teams

NEW YORK – Yahoo Sports, the mobile home for sports fans, and the New York Mets today announced the formation of the Queens Baseball Club, a new and unprecedented membership platform for loyal Mets’ fans across the country. The new offering builds upon Yahoo Sports’ track record of building engaged, team-based communities and is a first-of-its-kind partnership as Yahoo Sports continues finding new opportunities to bring fans closer to their favorite professional sports teams. The premium Mets’ fan experience will launch on iOS and Android on March 28, and fans can learn more at QueensBaseballClub.com today.

This membership club will immerse fans in an inclusive community where they can unite to discuss their favorite team and build a deeper connection to the team they care about most. Queens Baseball Club will amplify the experience Mets fans can have on game day, throughout the season and over the course of the off-season by offering members exclusive editorial, community tools and access to behind the scenes content and experiences like batting practices, press conferences, and front office Q&As.

In the largest market in the country, with one of the most avid fan bases in sports, the Mets have high expectations and strong momentum going into the 2019 season and beyond. Coming off of Jacob deGrom’s Cy Young season and the introduction of new General Manager, Brodie Van Wagenen, excitement for what the team can accomplish is at an all-time high. By partnering with Yahoo Sports, the Mets and their Emmy award winning regional sports network, SNY, have demonstrated a desire to bring fans inside the clubhouse.

“Yahoo Sports always strives to be the ultimate fan experience, and we’re proud to partner with the New York Mets to launch a new membership offering for their fans,” said Geoff Reiss, GM of Yahoo Sports. “Through our college sports subscription service Rivals, we’ve seen a real desire for premium sports content tied to a particular team – but until now, the options for professional teams have been limited. We know how to engage millions of sports fans worldwide, and we’ll use that expertise to build a membership offering that pro sports enthusiasts will love.”

From spring training in Port St. Lucie to games throughout the season at Citi Field, Queens Baseball Club will deliver members first-hand interviews, front office insights, and in-depth analysis around the moments that changed each game’s outcome. Leading the club’s editorial experience will be a newly hired team of journalists in the New York market covering sports.

Fans will have access to the club anytime, anywhere, whether cheering at Citi Field, watching at home, or following the team on the go. By leveraging Yahoo Sports’ technological capabilities and storied history developing unparalleled fan experiences, the Queens Baseball Club will become the first partnership of its kind, with a custom website and dedicated iOS & Android apps. Before the club becomes available for members on March 28.
