Event to feature leading cybersecurity expert plus iLuminate founder and performers
ST. LOUIS, Feb. 14, 2019 –TierPoint, a leading provider of secure cloud and data center solutions at the edge of the internet, today announced it will host the second annual BraveIT conference at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City on September 19.
The opening keynote will be delivered by Major General Brett Williams, USAF (Ret.), a cybersecurity expert once responsible for operating and defending Department of Defense information networks and executing other military cyberspace operations. The closing keynote, on the intersection of art and technology, will be delivered by iLuminate founder Miral Kotb, who will be followed by the iLuminate performers, a featured act on America’s Got Talent and other primetime television shows.
After a distinguished military career of over 30 years, Major General Williams co-founded IronNet Cybersecurity Inc. With both private sector and government experience, he has developed a knack for breaking down arcane cyber jargon and translating it into the language of business, so audiences can better understand and integrate cybersecurity solutions into their operations. As one of the world’s top cybersecurity thought leaders, his unique insights help audiences at all levels – from board and executive leaders to frontline technical specialists – defeat complex cyber threats and safeguard networks.
Miral Kotb had a vision for a project that would combine her two passions: dance and coding. Her concept included dancers wearing costumes, illuminated wirelessly to complement a combination of music and choreography. She pursued the idea with help from some of the best hardware and software engineers in the business. In 2009, she founded iLuminate, which paved the way for a new artform and continues to entertain and inspire audiences locally and globally, in schools, arenas and theaters.
BraveIT offers a dynamic community of technology leaders, their peers and partners a unique platform to stay current with industry best practices, pressure-test operating assumptions, and enrich plans to address a range of shared challenges, from cybersecurity to business continuity. The 2019 event will feature a packed afternoon of sessions and speakers on IT security, digital transformation, and future technologies shaping IT infrastructure, as well as dedicated space for interactive networking within the greater IT, technology and telecommunications sectors. The evening will end with a cocktail reception on the flight deck of the Intrepid. Other program elements – including morning meetups, training sessions, and exclusive BraveIT experiences – will be announced in the coming weeks, with updates at braveit.tierpoint.com.
