NetIX Deploys New Internet Exchange Point of Presence at NJFX for its Market Entry into the U.S.

Wall, NJ – February 14, 2010 NJFX, the only Cable Landing Station (CLS) colocation campus in the U.S offering Tier 3, carrier-neutral data center capabilities, announces NetIX, a Europe-based carrier class Ethernet exchange, will establish its first entry into the U.S. market via a Point of Presence (PoP) at NJFX.

NetIX was recently recognized at Capacity’s Global Carrier Awards as “Best Internet Exchange”, confirming the marketplace’s trust in the company’s platform. The company provides a Carrier Class Ethernet platform where carriers, ISPs, TV channels, educational institutions and other members connect faster, cheaper, and more directly. The NetIX network currently connects 20+ IXPs, serves more than 100 members, reaches nearly 5000 direct peers in 28 data centers and delivers close to 500 Gbps of traffic.

“About one quarter of the world’s networks are concentrated in the U.S., so the U.S. market is where NetIX is naturally welcome today,” comments Mariyan Rangelov, NetIX CEO. “Our market-entry through the PoP at NJFX will provide opportunities for American peers to exchange traffic directly with other peers around the world on the shortest possible physical and logical paths, which will in turn be of tremendous value for the Internet eco-system,” added Dean Belev, VP Services of NetIX.

“We chose to partner with NJFX because, from a business perspective, we see the great value of subsea cables coming directly into the NJFX CLS, which is very attractive for an Internet exchange,” comments Mr. Rangelov. “From a personal perspective, we have found NJFX extremely easy to work with and look forward to bringing the new PoP online in the spring of this year.”

“For our part, we are thrilled to work with NetIX, as the company has an expansive network throughout Europe with premier locations such as Madrid, Frankfurt, Paris and London, along with other, more difficult to reach locations in Europe and beyond it,” states NJFX General Manager Felix Seda. “This makes the network very appealing to the international networks that we work with, either here in the U.S. or also in Latin America. This is the true value of what NJFX can do for our clients when connecting into our ecosystem and collaborating for each other’s success.”
