Showcasing Advanced Tower Top Solutions which support 5G Macro Network Evolution at Mobile World Congress 2019
(25 February 2019, Hong Kong & Barcelona, Spain) – Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba Telecom” or “the Group”, HKSE stock code: 2342), a global leading solutions and services provider of wireless and information communications systems, today announced the debut of its Super Multiband Antenna and TDD+FDD Integrated Antenna at Mobile World Congress 2019 (“MWC19”). These advanced tower top solutions will assist the macro network evolution into the 5G era.
5G networks will enable seamless and real-time connectivity for Internet-of-Things (“IoT”) and machine-to-machine (“M2M”) communications to raise living standards in a smart environment. However, telecom operators are facing challenges while planning for the full implementation of 5G infrastructure: network capabilities, CAPEX / OPEX and cell site overload and acquisition issues. To have efficient utilization of existing technologies and cell sites, the industry believes that LTE and 5G networks will coexist for many years to come. To keep pace with the market change, Comba Telecom has developed a series of tower top solutions for building a convergent network for LTE-based and 5G systems.
The Super Multiband Antenna and TDD+FDD Integrated Antenna are the latest 5G-oriented solutions of Comba Telecom. The antennas are designed to accommodate multiple systems in an integrated chassis, enabling high-quality convergent network. The innovative design helps operators minimize the overall antenna counts on tower top, simplify site deployment and optimize network efficiency while adding 5G massive MIMO antennas to the existing cell sites. The antennas will be invaluable for operators to enhance both network coverage and capacity in a highly efficient way. Key features of the antennas are as below:
Super Multiband Antenna
• Supports ultra-broadband from low frequencies to high frequencies
• Multiple ports ultra-broadband platform supporting all sub 3G 4T4R
• 2LB+4HB arrays SBS design @498mm width
• Up to 8×8 MIMO solution for 1800, 2100 or 2600MHz
• Supports 700 or 800MHz 4×4 MIMO
• Extends to 3LB and more HB ports with integrated diplexer
• Greatly reduces number of antennas compared to traditional multi-band antenna
TDD+FDD Integrated Antenna
• Integrated FDD and TDD arrays in a single radome
• Multiple network integration: supports multiple TDD and FDD frequency bands
• Two ultra-low bands 4 ports + three ultra-high bands 6 ports + one TDD 9 ports
• 4×4 MIMO solution for 700, 800, 1800, 2100 or 2600MHz
• 2×690-960/1427-2690/2×1695-2690/3300-3800MHz
• Greatly reduces number of antennas compared with separate TDD and FDD antennas
Ms. Annabel Huo, President of Comba Telecom International said, “Being a global antenna supplier, Comba Telecom’s R&D team committed to providing more valuable and simplified solutions for operators to deploy 5G network as well as upgrading existing 2G/ 3G/4G networks at an early stage. In addition to showcasing the active 5G massive MIMO antenna, we also debut the Super Multiband Antenna and TDD+FDD Integrated Antenna at the largest mobile industry event. We believe that our comprehensive active and passive antenna solutions will help operators achieve higher business success in the wireless network evolution.”
