American Network Solutions Donates $1Million to the 1Million Project Foundation

The 1Million Project Foundation announced today that it will receive $1 Million from wireless device provider American Network Solutions (ANS). The contribution will help the foundation equip more than 260,000 high school students in 33 states with a free device and free internet service by the end of the 2018-2019 school year. This progress will help the program reach its goal of connecting one million students in the coming years.

“Accessing the internet anytime and virtually anywhere is a necessity for students trying to do their best in school and reach their goals. Unfortunately, every day millions of high school students in this country leave their school campus and are unable to connect,” said Doug Michelman, president of the 1Million Project Foundation. “That’s what makes support for the 1Million Project Foundation so important, and why we are so grateful for and humbled by the overwhelming generosity of ANS’ donation.”

ANS has supported the foundation since it launched in August 2017. Through direct device donations and the $1 Million contribution announced today, ANS will help to connect more than 42,000 high school students across the country.

“It is often said that people can make a difference. The 1Million Project Foundation, a vision of Marcelo Claure, is now a reality, and American Network Solutions is proud to participate in this worthwhile cause,” said Philip Christopher, president & CEO of American Network Solutions. “We salute the dedication and commitment of the 1Million Project Foundation and their goal to help students all across our country.”

The 1Million Project Foundation’s mission is to help one million high school students achieve their full potential by ensuring they have the connectivity they need to succeed in school. The foundation’s work requires a powerful network and technical support provided by Sprint, but one of the most costly elements is providing devices.
