Nokia’s People and Planet 2017 Sustainability Report wins Finland’s best sustainability report of the year award for the first time, beating 42 other organizations
Nokia’s sustainability reporting received three awards in total in the independent annual sustainability report review

Espoo, Finland – Nokia’s People and Planet 2017 Report has won three awards in Finland’s independent annual sustainability report review. The three awards are the best sustainability report, best reporting on the UN sustainable development goals and the investor’s favorite by Finland’s State Pension Fund.
Judges in the competition – run annually by a group of organizations representing different social institutions in Finland – said Nokia’s sustainability report was balanced, and, despite its length, clear and easy to read. The reporting frameworks were clearly presented, and the accounting principles were of high quality and detailed. The judges also said Nokia was bold in reporting on responsibility targets not yet achieved.
“We are very proud and excited about these awards. They underscore all the hard work of many people across the organization who are making a real impact on people’s lives and the challenges our planet faces,” says Anthony D’Arcy, Head of CR reporting, communications and customer relations at Nokia. “We are committed to responsible business and willing to go beyond the mandatory to create value for our customers and society.”
The competition has been organized since 1996. This year, a total of 43 sustainability reports from different organizations were evaluated.
Nokia has published annual corporate responsibility reports since 1999 and the reports are available online from 2003 on www.nokia.com/sustainability. Nokia’s People and Planet 2017 Report can be found here.
