The world’s leading Internet Exchange operator DE-CIX was honored at the Global Carrier Awards 2018 for its innovative power and was awarded the prize for the “Best Internet Exchange Innovation 2018” for the world’s first-ever “patch robot”. The patch robot has been in operation at DE-CIX since the largest infrastructure migration in the company’s history earlier this year. It simplifies the provisioning or upgrade of customer ports and performs this within minutes, without the need for a technician to directly physically intervene.
