WANRack Breaks Into Illinois With Two More School Districts

LENEXA, Kan. (July 24, 2018) — WANRack recently added two school districts to their growing list of Private Fiber Optic Wide Area Networks (WANs) nationwide. The two recent installations across Illinois provides a key milestone between their other recent successes in Wisconsin and Indiana.

The completed networks for Alton and Park Ridge School Districts are WANRack’s first steps into Illinois.  WANRack handed total control of the new private fiber builds over to the school districts in May but will continue to penetrate deeper into each market well into the future.

“WANRack is saving us money, giving us unlimited bandwidth, and allowing us total control of our WAN,” said Dan Brynildsen, Technology Coordinator for Alton Community School District. “It is crazy to me that more school districts aren’t using WANRack.”

WANRack laid a combined 22 miles of fiber that now serves students and staff in the two districts. The new networks give 21 schools up to 100 times faster speeds than their prior public networks.

“Alton and Park Ridge school districts will now have some of the fastest networks in the State of Illinois with unlimited growth potential,” says WANRack CEO, Rob Oyler. “WANRack truly means what we say—, our network will be the last network you’ll ever need, guaranteed.”

Compared to traditional cable or telephone companies, WANRack delivers private Fiber Optic WANs to K-12 school districts across the United States. Its unique solution of both lit and dark fiber has superior bandwidth, scalability and security, all while keeping the district’s bandwidth at an affordable, fixed low price.

“We are pleased with the work WANRack has put forth in building us our own private network and we cannot wait to utilize the WANRack solution well into our district’s future.” said Gorman Christian, Network Manager for Park Ridge School District. “We are finally receiving the bandwidth that we are paying for thanks to WANRack.”

WANRack provides high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks and related services to schools throughout the United States. Service offerings include E-Rate- compliant lit fiber, dark fiber, and special construction solutions. Headquartered in Lenexa, Kan., WANRack’s executive management team has been providing Fiber Optic WANs to school districts since 2005.
