LITTLE ROCK, AR (July 23, 2018) – Comcast Business has announced the completion of a $2 million fiber network expansion to Maumelle, a quickly growing suburb of Little Rock. The network, which spans more than 20 square miles, will offer the area’s businesses, schools, hospitals and government organizations access to up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) internet speeds, and in certain instances, up to 100 Gbps. In addition, Comcast plans to deliver up to 1 Gigabit internet service to residential customers in Maumelle later this year.
“Comcast’s investment in Maumelle speaks to this city’s impressive commercial and residential growth,” said Comcast Regional SVP Doug Guthrie. “Our advanced network will be capable of serving a variety of clients in the healthcare, government, education, retail and hospitality industries with speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second."
Over the last two years in Little Rock, Comcast has deployed its 100-gigabit network for the business community and announced up to one-gigabit Internet service for residents. Comcast has also added over 20,000 Wi-Fi hotspots for businesses, homes and public outdoor locations across Little Rock. Last year, Comcast launched Xfinity Mobile nationwide and in Little Rock.
