Ashburn, VA – 6/5/2018 – Dark Fiber and Infrastructure, LLC (DF&I) has received the required regulatory approvals and has formally closed the Asset Purchase Agreement it announced having reached with USA FIBER in April of this year. In addition to the closing of the APA, DF&I has executed an agreement with the State of Maryland to utilize the Potomac River Crossing to provide the state with dark fiber between Ashburn, VA and the Baltimore, Maryland Area on the DF&I “Express Route”. Once complete, this new network will be 100% underground, providing dedicated conduit and hyper scale dark fiber counts on the most direct low latency path available between Montgomery County, MD and the core of the data center ecosystem in North America located in Ashburn, VA.
