SEATTLE, May 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Westin Building Exchange (WBX) announced today the completion of the first phase of a new expansion of its Seattle-based Carrier Hotel / Colocation Facilities. In response to the increased Pacific Northwest demand of carriers, content and cloud providers requiring cost-effective, direct access to American, Asian and Canadian telecommunications markets, WBX is adding 1 MW of critical power capacity to accommodate the growing needs of both new and existing colocation customers.

The availability of 1 MW of capacity in a concurrently maintainable 2N configuration was launched on May 1, 2018, and will continue to be introduced in phases.
WBX is a connectivity-rich environment, which in addition to being home to Seattle Internet Exchange, one of the largest free public peering exchanges in the world, provides some of the lowest cross-connect rates in the industry. The facility offers the lowest latency available for transpacific circuits including 170 terabits of recently-landed subsea fiber.
