Customer consolidating its major North American data centers with Zayo
BOULDER, Colo. – May 17, 2018 – A global business process outsourcing company has selected Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) for an integrated communications infrastructure solution that includes data center colocation and wavelength connectivity. The solution is part of a consolidation of the customer’s major North American data centers into zColo facilities, driving continued operating efficiencies.
Zayo will provide more than 80 cabinets of colocation space in an East Coast data center. In addition to the potential for future expansion, the data center is centrally located to major interconnectivity hubs, which will allow for direct connectivity to major cloud service providers.
The multi-year agreement includes 10G diverse waves connecting the data center with a current data center located in the Southwest. Zayo is also supporting the customer with dark fiber connectivity to assist with a migration into their first Zayo data center.
As companies in the customer engagement industry and other data-intensive sectors generate growing volumes of data, they are increasingly relying on data centers connected via low-latency fiber paths. This architecture provides them with the resilience and flexibility to manage workloads and data storage efficiently.
“Our ability to combine multiple services was the differentiator in this transaction,” said Randy Dunbar, senior vice president – Transport. “The interplay between fiber and colocation continues to drive significant value, helping this long-standing customer accelerate its global growth and profitability objectives.”
