In the last month, the regional exchanges in Germany have shown exceptional growth, especially in Hamburg and Dusseldorf. In Hamburg, the first customer with 2x100GE access is now connected. Due to the ongoing growth, the DE-CIX engineers are in the process of upgrading the infrastructure in Hamburg from the smaller Nokia SR7 to the larger Nokia 7750 SR-12e, similar to the infrastructure upgrade in Madrid in August.
In addition, a new DE-CIX-enabled site will be operational soon: Internet Port Hamburg (IPHH) will become the third DE-CIX-enabled site in Hamburg after GlobalConnect and n@work. New enabled sites will also be announced soon for Munich and Dusseldorf – stay tuned!
The growth is not least supported by the fact that customers at the regional exchanges in Hamburg, Munich, and Dusseldorf are able to use GlobePEER Remote to peer in Frankfurt, and have access to cloud service providers via DirectCLOUD.
