Organizations Team with OneRepublic’s Good Life Foundation to Award $100,000 in Funding
NOVEMBER 29, 2017
Cisco and the GRAMMY Museum® announced today that the GRAMMY Museum has selected 20 U.S. public high schools as recipients of the GRAMMY® Signature Schools Enterprise Award, with cash grants funded by Cisco totaling $100,000.
Cisco’s donation to the GRAMMY Museum’s GRAMMY Signature Schools Program was made in conjunction with the Good Life Foundation – the charitable organization founded by GRAMMY®-nominated band OneRepublic – to support music education across the country for economically underserved schools. Since its inception in 1998, the GRAMMY Signature Schools Program has donated more than $2.4 million in financial assistance to school music programs nationally. Each of the 20 GRAMMY Signature School Enterprise Award winners will receive a $5,000 monetary grant to benefit its music curriculum.
Cisco will also enable each of the 20 high schools with the Cisco Spark™ collaboration platform, via a donation to the GRAMMY Museum, allowing teachers and students to use the Cisco Spark tool to communicate, share and create in the physical classroom – and beyond. Music at its core is a collaborative process, and Cisco truly believes that this tool will foster greater collaboration opportunities for the students and positively impact the way they work and learn.
“Cisco is proud to partner with the Good Life Foundation and the GRAMMY Museum to reward these deserving schools with vital funding to continue the incredible work they are doing,” said Maria Dincel, Managing Director, Olympics, Global Sponsorships and Product Placement at Cisco. “We are committed to not only supporting but also rewarding the outstanding work of the students, teachers and administrators at these schools, and hope this donation continues to make music education a reality for students across America.”
“We have seen the incredible benefits of our GRAMMY Signature Schools program at work in classrooms across the country, and we couldn’t be more grateful to Cisco and OneRepublic’s Good Life Foundation for their generous donation,” said Scott Goldman, GRAMMY Museum Executive Director. “These 20 selected schools will earn much-needed funds to increase the access to music education that they provide their students. We thank Cisco and OneRepublic for their commitment to ensuring that the next generation of artists have adequate funding to fulfill their dreams.”
Cisco has been driving digital transformation in the music industry as the Official U.S. Wi-Fi Technology partner of Live Nation and the Official Wi-Fi and Digital Network Architecture partner of OneRepublic’s 2017 Honda Civic Tour. Nearly 500,000 fans logged-on to Wi-Fi in 25 Live Nation amphitheaters connected by Cisco® technology throughout the country during the 2017 concert season.
