Lower costs and improved affordability for in-building, first-responder communications supported by industry-leading integration of CriticalPoint™ Fiber DAS
(15 August 2017 – Hong Kong) – Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba Telecom” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, today announced the 700/800MHz CriticalPoint™ Public Safety Fiber DAS solution at the APCO 2017 | 83rd Annual Conference & Expo in Denver, USA.
Available for North Americas market, the CriticalPoint 700/800MHz Fiber DAS features a new innovative design that integrates the RF signal source and DAS headend into a single, small form-factor master unit. The integration not only saves valuable space, but compared to more traditional fiber DAS architectures, it also reduces the overall DAS head end equipment and installation costs, it also lowers the equipment cost and footprint of the required battery backup unit. Linked by fiber optic cable, the master unit feeds 2W remote units that distributes the RF signal throughout the building. The master unit can support up to 8 remote units – this makes the fiber DAS a perfect solution for large venues (>400,000sqft.) or multiple building “campus” scenarios such as universities, hospitals, multi building residential or mixed use structures, etc.
The CriticalPoint Fiber DAS system will be available in both AC and DC powered. Below is a list of other key features:
CriticalPoint Class A Fiber DAS
• Supports up to 32 channels per band
• 2W downlink power per band (Remote Unit)
• Channelized Automatic Level Control (ALC)
• Channelized squelch
• Support SNMP v2 & v3 / Easy-to-use OMT web interface
• NEMA 4X and NFPA compliant as well as FCC and UL/IC approved
