HOUSTON – Verizon takes great pride in providing network reliability for its customers looking to call, post, stream and text. In 2016, Verizon invested more than $951 million in its network in the Lone Star State, ensuring its customers have the best possible experience, no matter whether they’re responding to local emergencies, solving for business challenges or simply connecting with loved ones.
Consistent investment in reliability, innovation and the latest engineering technologies helped the leading wireless provider come out on top in the latest rankings by RootMetricsⓇ. According to the nation’s most rigorous, independent study, Verizon was rated #1 in overall network performance as well as data performance, speed, call and network reliability in Houston.
“Our network engineers ensure a consistent experience is their priority every day because our customers deserve a network that they can always rely on, especially when they need it most,” said Verizon South Central Market President Krista Bourne.
The Texas-sized investment includes hundreds of small cells – mini cell sites that are hidden in plain sight – on top of traffic signals and utility poles that help boost coverage and capacity in densely populated areas throughout both metro areas.
Small cells not only improve Verizon’s 4G LTE network today, they also provide the foundation for the next generation network: 5G. Verizon recently announced that it will deliver 5G pre-commercial services to select customers in Houston in 2017.
