NTT COMMUNICATIONS EXTENDS WORLDWIDE TIER-1 IP NETWORK TO INTERXION SCIENCE PARK

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – May 29, 2017 – NTT Communications (NTT Com), NTT Group’s Data and IP Service Branch, has opened a Point of Presence (PoP) at Interxion Science Park. With this PoP in Amsterdam, NTT Com underlines the strategic importance of the Benelux in its European growth strategy.

NTT Com provides consulting, architecture and IT solutions around the world, for customers including Canon, Yamaha and Toshiba. The company provides a worldwide tier-one IP network, ranging from Asia to North America and Europe. This new PoP is located in the former Vancis data centre in Amsterdam Science Park that was recently acquired by Interxion and has a direct connection to the Schiphol Campus. The PoP also establishes connections with SURFsara and the National Institute of Subatomic Physics (Nikhef). NTT Com now has eight PoPs in Interxion’s data centres spread across Europe.

The Interxion Science Park data centre is located at the centre of Amsterdam’s connectivity, and offers access to more than 110 carriers and ISPs, as well as a number of prestigious knowledge institutions, research companies, knowledge-intensive multinationals and start-ups. NTT Com is also sponsoring MORE-IP this year, a networking event for the internet industry in Amsterdam. This is hosted by the AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), one of the world’s largest connectivity hubs in the world. “The Netherlands plays a strategic role in the global digital infrastructure, which is growing in terms of density and capacity.
