NEW YORK  Verizon Communications Inc. (Verizon) (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) today announced that it has filed a prospectus supplement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the issuance of corporate notes through Incapital LLC’s InterNotes® program, which is targeted at retail investors.

Verizon InterNotes® will be senior unsecured obligations of Verizon and may be offered on a recurring basis. The notes may be issued with fixed or floating interest rates, in minimum denominations of $1,000 and integral multiples of $1,000 and with maturities of nine months or more. The full principal amount of the notes will be payable on the specified maturity date unless the notes are earlier redeemed or repaid in accordance with their terms. The specific terms of the notes will be set prior to the time of sale and described in a pricing supplement.

Incapital LLC will act as purchasing agent for the program, and each of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, RBC Capital Markets, LLC and Wells Fargo Clearing Services, LLC will act as an agent for the program.

This announcement does not constitute an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy the notes.  Before investing, investors should read the prospectus supplement, the accompanying prospectus and the applicable final pricing supplement relating to each offering of Verizon InterNotes® for more complete information about Verizon and the offering. Investors may obtain these documents from the agents listed above, as well as from Incapital’s network of broker-dealers or by visiting EDGAR on the SEC website at https://www.sec.gov. Verizon InterNotes® will not be sold in any state or jurisdiction in which such an offer, solicitation, or sale would be unlawful.
