Red Dot award to five Ericsson products

Ericsson has once again been recognized for its excellence in industrial design by the Red Dot Award, an international competition for high-quality design.

A jury of nearly 40 independent designers, professors and journalists have awarded five Ericsson products with the distinguished Red Dot Award. The winning products include: HDS 8000, Enclosure 6130, MINI-LINK 6363, RD 4442 and Baseband T605. In 2016, Ericsson Radio System also received a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category.

The jury’s motivation for awarding the 2017 Red Dot award reads: “Ericsson and its industrial design department has created an outstanding design that the expert committee for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 has recognized with the internationally sought-after seal of quality”.

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award says: “The Red Dot winners are pursuing the right design strategy. They have recognized that good design and economic success go hand in hand. The award by the critical Red Dot jury documents their high design quality and is indicative of their successful design policy.”

The winning Ericsson products represent a broad range of hardware from our portfolio and are further examples of our continuous work on brand consistency and world-class usability.

About the Red Dot Awards

Over 5,500 manufacturers and designers from 54 countries submitted entries to the 2017 product design competition. Over the course of several days, jurors in Essen Germany assessed individual products in a live setting before awarding the Red Dot seal. A formal award ceremony will be held on July 3, 2017 followed by an exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen.
