Zayo to provide diverse wavelength connectivity
BOULDER, Colo. – January 13, 2017 – A global e-commerce company has selected Zayo for wavelength connectivity, leveraging the service to improve network performance and reduce latency. The solution will provide connectivity to two of the company’s data centers in Nevada and a data center in Utah.
The solution includes four 100G diverse routes between the Nevada data centers and two 100G routes to Salt Lake City. The routes leverage Zayo’s existing fiber, including its recently completed Salt Lake to Sacramento network. Zayo’s long-haul routes enable diverse connectivity, which are critical in preventing costly, customer-impacting downtime.
According to an eMarketer report, e-commerce sales continues to grow, with 2016 sales expected to exceed $22 trillion globally, up six percent from 2015. The growth has increased demand for high-performance communications infrastructure, with a focus on low latency networks. For large e-commerce companies, millisecond improvements can translate to sales increases.
“In this case, the customer is looking for a competitive advantage, which our low-latency wavelength solution provides,” said Matthew Brouker, vice president of Wavelength at Zayo. “It’s an excellent illustration of leveraging our embedded network to provide the customer with a solution to execute their latency-sensitive e-commerce strategies.”
