AT&T and NBA TV to Deliver First-Ever Live NBA Game in 4K for Fans in the United States

NBA TV’s Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz Game on Dec. 3 to Air on DIRECTV in 4K Ultra HD

AT&T* and NBA TV, managed jointly by the NBA and Turner Sports, will provide fans in the United States with the opportunity to watch a live NBA game in 4K Ultra HD (UHD) for the first time when DIRECTV distributes NBA TV’s telecast of the Denver Nuggets vs. the Utah Jazz game on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. MT/9 p.m. ET on DIRECTV.**

With 4K UHD, viewers get about four times the resolution of HDTV, including sharper detail, smoother lines and a richer color palette, providing the industry’s best picture format and most vibrant color TV experience.

“The 4K UHD experience on DIRECTV combines the excitement of the arena and the convenience of the living room,” said Dan York, Chief Content Officer, AT&T Entertainment Group. “Live sports is one of the best ways to showcase this incredibly vivid format and we believe NBA fans will love this unique video experience.”

The Nuggets vs. Jazz game will be the first NBA game broadcast live this season in the U.S. in 4K Ultra HD by DIRECTV, a leading provider of live sports in 4K UHD.  Additional games will be announced at a future date.

The NBA was the first U.S. professional sports league to capture a game in 4K in January 2015, when the New York Knicks played the Milwaukee Bucks during NBA Global Games London.
