Going, going, gone! Mobile data hits one out of the park.

Fans in both Cleveland and Chicago celebrated this years’ historic championship game series by sharing both the highlights and upsets with friends and family. AT&T kept them connected with a Distributed Antenna System (DAS).

There’s no greater tradition than a night at the ballpark root, root, rooting for your team. Fans in both Cleveland and Chicago celebrated this years’ historic championship game series by sharing both the highlights and upsets with friends and family.

We’re keeping fans connected at ballparks in both Cleveland and Chicago with a Distributed Antenna System (DAS). A DAS provides strong mobile coverage throughout the series – from the first pitch to the final trophy presentation.

With constant excitement and game-winning plays, Chicago fans hit it out of the ballpark –both literally and with mobile data usage. Chicago fans used nearly 3 Terabytes (TB) of data at home games in Chicago during the series. That’s equal to 8 million selfies!

Cleveland fans weren’t far behind, using 2 TB of data at home games in Cleveland during the series.

From homers and outs, to fastballs and stolen bases, fans were busy capturing each moment of an exciting Game 7 and we have the data to prove it:

Fast(ball) Facts:

  • Overall, nearly 5 TB of data was used in total during the series in both Cleveland and Chicago stadiums. That’s equal to more than 14 million social media posts with photos.
  • The highest single game total for mobile data usage was during Game 3 in Chicago where more than 1 TB of data crossed our network in the stadium. That’s equal to more than 2.8 million social media posts with photos.
