Lenexa, KS (October 12, 2016) – Another WANRack customer win in the K-12 market continues the company’s progress toward becoming the premier provider of private fiber optic Wide Area Networks (WANs) for schools in the United States. Kemp Independent School District (Kemp ISD) is the latest district in the state of Texas to select WANRack for the design and construction of a new high-speed networking solution.
“Our continued growth and success in Texas is very exciting,” said Rob Oyler, WANRack’s CEO. “This is our busiest year ever helping school districts upgrade to this type of network. They no longer need to rely on the encumbered legacy networks of the local telco or cable companies. Combined with the new E-Rate 2.0 rules, WANRack provides unlimited private fiber networking accessible for districts of all sizes, across the country.”
Located approximately 45 miles southeast of Dallas, Kemp ISD spans 150 square miles. The new WANRack network will support all of the district’s facilities, allowing students and staff to benefit from blazing network speeds of 10 Gigabits per second per site.
The exceptional security and scalability of the WANRack fiber solution will support the district’s mission of providing innovative educational opportunities that enable all students to achieve their highest potential in this digital age. Kemp ISD signed a long-term agreement with WANRack and implementation of the network has already commenced. Completion is expected in November.
“Our district is making major infrastructure improvements to support more computing devices and classroom technology,” said Tobin Brown, Director of Technology for Kemp ISD. “This private fiber network is the cornerstone of that initiative and everything WANRack has done so far in the process has been great. The project makes our goals not only feasible, but cost effective.”
WANRack specializes in providing private fiber optic WAN solutions for K-12 school districts nationwide. A unique design model allows the company to provide lit or dark fiber solutions that provide superior bandwidth, scalability and security as compared to traditional cable or telephone company offerings, often at a significant cost savings.
