New RootMetrics® Report highlights Sprint’s strong local network improvement

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Oct. 21, 2016 – Less than a year after Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) made Little Rock its South Central Regional Headquarters, the Independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics® released its Little Rock RootScore® Report for 2H 2016 showing Sprint shared the #1 ranking in network reliability, call and text performance.

“We’re proud to call Little Rock our home here in Sprint’s South Central Region,” said Jon Blitz, Sprint president for the South Central Region. “That’s why we’re extremely excited our network in Little Rock now shares first place in overall network reliability, call and text. Sprint is making a comeback in this market and across the country. More importantly, our customers have noticed the substantial improvement in the Sprint network. Our goal is to keep working to build an even better and faster network for wireless consumers across Arkansas.”

Getting Better Every Day
Sprint’s more than $62 million investment throughout Arkansas over the last four years has helped to add new cell sites, increase coverage and capacity, and systematically optimize each cell site to maximize performance. During testing, RootMetrics was also able to experience Sprint’s carrier aggregation technology on the 2.5GHz spectrum band. This feature of Sprint’s super-fast LTE Plus Networkcreates a wider lane that allows more network traffic to travel at higher rates, enabling Sprint to provide customers in Little Rock with even faster data speeds.

Network improvements in Little Rock and across Arkansas include:

  • Expansion of LTE service to provide better coverage
  • Deployment of 2.5 GHz helping to increase overall capacity
  • Roll-out of two-channel carrier aggregation making a significant improvement in data speeds.

Additional network enhancements will continue in Little Rock and throughout Arkansas as customers’ demand for faster experiences and increased wireless capacity continues.

Rankings based on RootMetrics Little Rock (September 2016) RootScore Report for mobile performance as tested on best available plans and devices on 4 mobile networks across all available network types.
