Mobilizing for Good

We live in a time when we are flooded with negativity.

Turn on the television or radio or look at your social media newsfeed, and there it is.

It could make you want to tune out.

Last month, I traveled to Washington D.C. with AT&T for the National Association of Black Journalists Convention to talk about the new Inspired Mobility research. And I was encouraged.

It revealed some positive news for a change. Overwhelmingly, people are sharing and finding inspiration online with their devices.

It’s a real reason to stay connected with others with your mobile device.

It’s the primary reason I do. Whether it’s staying connected with my family or sharing my “Words of Wisdom” on Twitter or Instagram, inspiration drives my mobile experience.

It’s driving many of yours too, according to the latest AT&T research.

  • More than 70% said you’re using mobility to get inspired.
  • Another 7-in-10 believe that very act makes the world a better place.*

I’m here to encourage you to continue to do something positive with your device. I want to mobilize an online army for good. Our weapon against the negativity? Our smart devices.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Sunday, Sept. 25, is Social Media Sunday

Social Media Sunday is when many houses of worship across the country encourage their members to share their experiences in service on social media.  Whether you’re in a house of worship that day or on the golf course, you can join in as well.

It’s all about sharing an inspiring thought, picture, meme, song or video with our hashtag #InspiredMobility.

If you don’t know where to start, follow me @RevRunWisdom and retweet something that inspires you from your smartphone or tablet.

It’s easy.

We want to create a whirlwind of positivity online to drown out the negative for a change.

Together, we can make the world a better place.

Will you join me?

Join the conversation by sharing inspiration from your device using #InspiredMobility. Download the special-edition Inspired Mobility ebook of Rev Run’s Wisdom here. Learn more about the movement and the research atatt.com/inspiredmobility.

*More than 70% surveyed said they used mobility to get inspired; another 7-10 believe it makes the world a better place. AT&T commissioned this 15-minute online survey in July 2016, engaging a nationally represented sample of 2000 mobile device users in the general population who connect to the Internet with their devices.
