BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
A global content delivery network (CDN) provider has selected Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (ZAYO) for a wavelengths solution to support a large portion of its backbone traffic. The solution leverages Zayo’s existing North American and European infrastructure, including assets recently acquired from Allstream and Viatel.
Under the terms of the multi-year contract, the customer has purchased 20 point-to-point 10G wavelengths throughout the U.S., Canada and western Europe. The solution provides high-performance capacity and connectivity to many large internet peering locations to meet the customer’s increasing demands for bandwidth.
With the continued demand for digital content, media, content and gaming companies utilize CDN providers for private delivery networks. These networks connect a distributed system of servers deployed in multiple data centers as close as possible to users, optimizing speed, performance and latency. CDN providers in North America and Europe are increasingly turning to Zayo for communications infrastructure solutions, including fiber bandwidth and colocation.
“Our ability to provide a flexible, comprehensive solution and broad geographic footprint differentiated us from the competition,” said Matthew Brouker, vice president of Wavelengths at Zayo. “Our expanded international capability and ability to turn up the solution quickly were also key factors in the customer’s decision.”
