AT&T announces the winners of the US$10,000 grand prize at AT&T/MCMC 2016 Malaysia Developers’ Day.
“Team CurioCity” won the US$10,000 grand prize at AT&T* /MCMC 2016 Malaysia Developers’ Day. The team received the title for IoT app creation during the 24-hour application development contest.
The winning app is called CurioCity. The team also won the best app for lifestyle category. Organizers Jake Jennings, executive director International External Affairs of AT&T* (right) and Dato’ Mohd Ali Hanafiah Mohd Yunus, Chief Officer of Digital Ecosystem of MCMC (left) presented the award to Team CurioCity Friday, Sept. 23, 2016.
AT&T/MCMC 2016 Malaysia Developers’ Day took place during the KL Converge! It drew 132 contestants from all over Asia. The following teams and members took home prizes out of the 22 participating teams and 22 apps developed at the event:
- Best app for Smart City – Team Price Watch for a grocery shopping app also called “Price Watch” to “crunch” data to model customer behavior
- Best app for Community – Team re-Med for an app with the same name to track and redistribute soon-to-expire medicines to the ones in need
- Best app for Lifestyle – Team CurioCity for an app with the same name that allows users to virtually experience travel by others via short live video clips
