Restoring Service to Our Customers in Louisiana

Relief for AT&T Customers Impacted by Louisiana Floods

This has been a very trying week for our customers impacted by recent floods. Unfortunately our networks are not always immune to the devastating effects of natural disasters.

We’re offering credits to customers in certain parishes for service disruption. We will continue to work with you and for you, as we pull together to restore and grow our community even stronger than before. Thank you for being a valued AT&T customer.

Credits for Service Disruption

Additionally, customers in the parishes declared in a state of emergency and who have incurred data overage charges for data used between Aug. 14, 2016, and Aug. 28, 2016, will be credited those overage charges. Those include: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, St Charles, St Helena, St James, St John the Baptist, St Landry, St Martin, St Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Vermilion, Vernon, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana.

How You Can Help

AT&T wireless customers can text “RELIEF” to 80077 to donate $10 to Baton Rouge Area Foundation Louisiana Flood Relief Fund to support those affected and the most urgent local needs as we work to restore the community. No text message fees apply. Your $10 donation will appear on your wireless bill or be deducted from your prepaid balance.

Our Network – Wireless service has been restored for the vast majority of our customers. One of our switching centers that carries network traffic in the Baton Rouge area was flooded with 22 inches of water. We’re working nonstop to get it back online. We deployed more than 10 satellite Cell on Light Trucks (COLTs) and Emergency Communications Vehicles (ECVs), plus a mobile command center, to aid wireless service for emergency personnel and help with network capacity where needed. An ECV also is set up to provide public Wi-Fi at an evacuation center in Gonzales, Louisiana. Our network is carrying record levels of network traffic in the Baton Rouge area as many people try to contact loved ones.

“The support from all levels has been tremendous in restoring Mobility service,” said Mark Rigney, director RAN engineering. “This situation has demonstrated the high level of expertise and know-how that exists in our AT&T team. When the first alerts came, we all immediately thought about Katrina. Everyone immediately went into full disaster recovery mode and got to work.”

Our Stores – Only 1 company-owned store in Denham Springs remains closed. We’re providing free charging stations, free calls and Wi-Fi for all residents at these local stores:

  • Mall of Louisiana
  • 6770 Siegen Lane
  • 7539 Corporate Blvd.
  • 3111 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd.
  • 5555 Main St. in Zachary

Our Communities – We’re moving to help affected communities as quickly as possible. So far, we’ve sent microcells to state government to boost network coverage in Baton Rouge. We’ve offered special discounts on phones and accessories in affected areas. At evacuation shelters, our team has provided charging stations and phones for people to use. AT&T is donating $100,000 to two organizations to help restore Louisiana following the recent floods. The contribution will be divided between the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and DonorsChoose.org.

* Customer location and credit will be based on account billing address.  50% discount calculated based on customer’s rate plan as of August 18, 2016 and excludes taxes, fees, and surcharges.  Credit will post within three billing cycles.
