GVTC Chooses Data Foundry as Hub for Wholesale Ethernet Business Operations

AUSTIN, Texas — July 21, 2016 — GVTC Communications has selected Data Foundry’s, state-of-the-art, Texas 1 facility as an interconnection point for the company’s recently launched wholesale Ethernet business. Texas 1 will serve as a gateway for GVTC’s Ethernet network capable of transporting up to a terabyte of data enabling end-to-end Service Level Agreements and protected low latency rings, for real-time applications such as disaster recovery, synchronous data replication, and cellular backhaul.

GVTC customers can access Texas 1 from San Antonio, Austin, Marble Falls, the Rio Grande Valley, Houston, and other South Texas cities. The company is marketing its wholesale Ethernet services to fiber network providers and data transport companies.

“Our presence in Texas 1 provides carrier diversity, protection from natural disasters, eight layers of security, and dual power grids, for GVTC customers,” Josh Pettiette, GVTC vice president, product, business development & strategic planning, said. “In addition, GVTC customers co-located in Texas 1 can achieve low-latency synchronous data replication to anywhere in the San Antonio/Austin Metroplex for large, latency-sensitive applications.”

Texas 1 is a purpose-built facility, designed from the ground up to operate as a dedicated data center. Among its many features, the premium facility provides 24 x 7 x 365 onsite support.

“As a carrier-neutral data center, we are thrilled to add GVTC to our list of high-speed network providers at Texas 1 in Austin. Access to GVTC’s network will be an especially valuable asset for our Central and South Texas customers,” says Data Foundry CTO, Edward Henigin.

GVTC’s expansive wholesale network is possible through the company’s vast fiber assets, along with partnerships that include regional telephone companies, fiber segment providers and metro fiber providers. By leveraging these fiber assets and proven expertise in fiber networks and operations, GVTC is providing valuable services to businesses, carriers, and data centers in one of the fastest growing regions in the United States.
