EvoSwitch main sponsor Haarlem Valley Startups event in New York

Last week, Eric Boonstra and Patrick van der Wilt joined a special trade mission; ‘’Haarlem meets Harlem’’. The trade mission was organized by Haarlem Valley/Present your Start Up, which EvoSwitch has a partnership with, SiliconHarlem and the cities of New York and Haarlem.  The trade mission had a focus on meeting and networking with different start-ups from The Netherlands and the US. After several workshops and meetings during the week, all 6 start-ups (3 from the US and 3 from the Netherlands) came together for a pitch event in Harlem New York. To get a better view, watch the movie over the event below.

Being the main sponsor, EvoSwitch had, besides great brand visibility also the opportunity to talk to all the different start-ups first hand. The winner of the pitch event also got an EvoSwitch ‘’colo start-up kit’’ Which includes, a rack, connectivity and workspace in EvoSwitch AMS1 data center. The start-up that won the prize was RecordGram. This start-up created an app where you can upload, download, buy and sell all your beats and vocals through a leasing concept. One of the co-founders is NYC based rapper Mims.

Having established first ground in the US, Europe was on the roadmap for RecordGram, and the colocation start-up kit from EvoSwitch was therefore very well received! They will roll out their European business out of the EvoSwitch datacenter in Haarlem. Deployment will probably start in October of this year. Recordgram’s CEO will compete in a Netherlands based start-up event and take the opportunity to meet with EvoSwitch staff to discuss further implementation and publicity. Next to RecordGram, some other interesting start-up are in talks with EvoSwitch to deploy their IT equipment at EvoSwitch.
