WASHINGTON, June 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE:CTL, news, filings) recently added its Enhanced Cybersecurity Services (ECS) product to the company’s General Services Administration (GSA) IT Schedule 70 contract, which is the federal government’s largest and most widely used acquisition vehicle that is also commonly used by state and local governments.
CenturyLink is an approved commercial services provider under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) ECS program, which helps U.S.-based public or private entities protect their IT systems from unauthorized access, breaches and data exfiltration.
ECS provides participating entities with advanced email filtering, domain name system protections and signature-based intrusion prevention security services. It features managed security protections that use government-furnished threat and technical information as well as network traffic patterns indicating known or suspected malicious cyber activity.
“CenturyLink is pleased to offer Enhanced Cybersecurity Services to state and local government agencies through its GSA IT Schedule 70 contract,” said CenturyLink Senior Vice President and General Manager Tim Meehan, who leads the company’s federal government team. “Adding ECS to our IT Schedule 70 contract underscores our commitment to help state and local governments defend their networks against cyber attacks. CenturyLink was one of the first ECS providers to begin actively providing cybersecurity services to U.S.-based public and private entities.”
By supplying ECS services over its carrier-class network, CenturyLink is able to provide U.S.-based public or private entities with the information security and reliability they need to carry out their missions.
CenturyLink is ranked No. 34 on Washington Technology’s 2016 Top 100 list of federal government IT contractors.
