HIBERNIA NETWORKS ANNOUNCES PROTECTED WAVELENGTH SERVICE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC FOR UNMATCHED RESILIENCY

Leverages unique route diversity in the transatlantic corridor for highly resilient, low latency connectivity between North America and Europe

DUBLIN, IRELANDMay 9, 2016Hibernia Networks, a provider of global, high speed telecommunications solutions, announces today the addition of Protected Wavelength Service to its suite of best-in-class Optical Transport Solutions. The new, highly resilient Protected Wavelength Service is available on the company’s three transatlantic routes including its flagship system, Hibernia Express, the recently launched high capacity, low latency cable connecting North America and Europe. Hibernia Networks’ Protected Wavelength Service is initially available at 10Gbps with the capability to add 100Gbps service in the future.

“Network reliability continues to ever-increasingly be a top priority for all customers across all vertical segments,” states Al DiGabriele, Senior Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Hibernia Networks. “Our team is constantly working towards engineering new solutions that address the pain points of our global customer base. The new Protected Wavelength Service provides customers with a secure, resilient and redundant connectivity solution to enable their business critical applications, giving them peace of mind that their network is running uninterrupted.”

Hibernia Networks’ Wavelength Services are built for today’s most demanding customers that seek scalable, secure and redundant high-speed connectivity solutions. The new Protected Wavelength Service is designed with unparalleled resiliency through its ownership of three diverse subsea cables routes, including Hibernia North, Hibernia South and Hibernia Express. The service offers less than 50ms failover switching to a fully dedicated alternative circuit for uninterrupted network connectivity. Hibernia Networks provides customers with enhanced security through the diversity of its unique subsea cables routes, strategically engineered to mitigate costly network downtime.

“As expectations continue to rise in the market for fast, reliable Internet connectivity, network resiliency has become an important element of a connectivity service,” stated Tim Stronge, Vice President of Research at TeleGeography. “A protected wavelength service is another high speed connectivity service option that enhances network redundancy, which is particularly attractive to ISPs and enterprises that can benefit from the cost efficiencies of this service.”
