Hammer Fiber Selects IO to Provide Central Network Hub for Next-Generation Telco Services

Phoenix, Ariz. – May 4, 2016 – IO, a leading global provider of Data Center Services, today announced Hammer Fiber has selected the IO.New Jersey data center to provide network interconnectivity for its telecommunications services. Hammer Fiber chose IO because it provides a highly secure, energy efficient data center that offers flexibility to add capacity quickly to accommodate their expansion plans.

Hammer Fiber has connected a 450-mile fiber network throughout New Jersey. It will use IO.New Jersey’s Meet-Me-Room as its centralized network hub and to enable a direct, low latency fiber link between Manhattan and Philadelphia. The company will also use the hub to securely cross-connect with its carrier partners. Hammer Fiber is rolling out a next-generation broadband service that delivers to its New Jersey customers the triple play of high-speed internet service, VoIP telephone service and IPTV service.

“IO easily met our rigorous requirements for carrier-class data center connectivity and security that will help us maintain an always-on network,” said Michael Adamcik, Vice President of Network Services, Hammer Fiber. “Their data center stood out in its ability to maximize energy efficiency and to scale to support our fast-growth business plan. Its central location provides a vital link for our high-speed network, helping us deliver advanced internet services to customers ranging from Manhattan to Philadelphia.”

IO.New Jersey is a carrier-neutral data center that enables customers to connect to hundreds of networks in its Meet-Me-Room, where telecommunications companies can physically connect to one another and exchange data. IO.New Jersey maintains diverse network paths in and out of the data center to help ensure interconnections are available on a 24/7 basis with minimal risk of interruption.

With 830,000 square feet, IO.New Jersey is one of the largest colocation and cloud modular data center facilities on the U.S. east coast. IO’s modules are exceptionally energy efficient and provide power cost savings of between 20 to 30 percent as compared to traditional raised floor colocation. The data center employs multiple layers of physical security to protect the mission-critical infrastructure in the facility.

“Delivering advanced broadband services, Hammer Fiber is an industry-disruptive company that is a great fit for our data center services,” said David Mettler, Vice President of Sales and the Market Director, IO. “They can leverage the redundancy and resiliency built into our state-of-the-art infrastructure to help them deliver products that tap the full potential of the age of the internet.”
