Building a New Generation of Web Developers in Mexico

The AT&T Foundation will make its first grant in Mexico to help fund the course work for 120 women who aspire to become developers.

This year, the AT&T Foundation will make its first grant of $75,000 in Mexico to the Laboratoria Coding A.C., a social technology organization. The grant will fund five months of course work for 120 women who aspire to become developers. The program comes after AT&T launched operations in Mexico last year, creating a network that now covers 51 million people with 4G LTE service.

“At AT&T, we want to inspire and empower Mexican women to drive innovation. This program will give women new opportunities to acquire skills and to be integrated into the world of technology, bridging the digital divide,” said Thaddeus Arroyo, CEO of AT&T (Mexico).

Laboratoria has launched a call for submissions for the July 2016 class of coders. Interested candidates can register online at http://laboratoria.la/postula/mexico.
